It Was A Monday Afternoon In Dumfries

Image
I took my Canon Canonet for a cycle around Dumfries on Monday afternoon. This is a really fun camera to use even though it's almost as old as me (it's a year younger). I've been getting nice results with Kentmere Pan 400 film which is fast but fine grained. I like to take black and white photographs as it helps in learning to visualise the world in shades of black white and grey for drawing and inking.

I've been developing some of the photos I took at the weekend's Comic Con in Ingliston. The first batch is the Saturday shots. This is a fun event, especially if you are a fan of genre movies. Monopoly Events' Comic Con Scotland takes place this coming weekend 12th and 13th October at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingleston, Edinburgh, and Space Pilot will be there. We have a stall in the small press and artist's area and would be very glad to see you if you can drag yourself away from the legend that is Christopher Lloyd. It looks like it will be a big show and you can find out more from their website . I'll be drawing sketches on request and we will have a supply of Tales Of The Beachcomber and some freebies. There are still some Beachcomber stickers left to get free with your comics and we have a nice selection of Space Pilot badges. There will also be some Shoreline of Infinity publications including the latest Shoreline of Infinity magazine, the home of the Beachcomber, and Watch The Skies, a guide to sf and fantasy pub signs with a cover by me. UPDATE We are in the middle of the hall just to the left, two tables past Alex with his memorabilia and me
